LFW - Essentials F/W 21/22

Coming one year since the Covid-19 pandemic hit most of the world, the fall/winter 21/22 collections offered a sense of what fashion will look like once normal life picks back up again. Comfort, the key word of 2020, will continue to shape the industry, embedded in every product category you could think of, including refreshed tailoring – another major trend for the season. Despite everything, the desire to dress up again will shape the collections in F/W 21/22. Sensuality and embellishment are making a comeback, seen as a key direction at the runways. Discover now the key directions and trends from London Fashion Week.

Sexy minimalism

The minimalism aesthetic takes on modern femininity, mixing with ’90s aesthetics. Transparency is key for a sexier approach, while darker tones allow a more contemporary party direction.

Laser-cut openwork

The creative use of laser-cut openwork has been a defining detail of the F/W 21/22 shows so far. Designers have been exploring this detail through circular cutouts, driving newness in silhouettes.

Feather Trim

In New York and Milan, timeless clothes were updated with feathers, giving a dimensional quality and layer of tactility for winter. In London also, this innovative application has been applied to oversized coats and coordinate sets, providing a work-to-party atmosphere.
