LFW round-up: Catwalk essentials
London was the place for innovative designers to bring a sense of what the future holds. At this London Fashion Week edition, labels invoked a joyful sensibility to heal from the economic and emotional turmoil.
Many designers opted to showcase their collections with lookbooks, and those who went for physical catwalks counted on none or a few spectators.
Many collections had an extravagant mood. It brought to life a sense of hope and escapism, which felt like glimpsing into an imaginative universe. The bold colors and romantic dresses were living proof of this new take on fashion, while cut-outs brought a more youthful atmosphere.
Vivacious hues appeared as a contrast to the soothing colors that have become popular during the pandemic. These colors will be crucial for statement items, as extravagant escapism becomes a key direction for the season. Powerful greens were the choice to reproduce a sense of natural escapism.

Cut-outs led the way at LFW, giving a fresh twist to simple shapes. Layered sheers and ruched details brought creativity, while relaxed and fresh materials enhanced a summerly feel. This direction is key to elevate sensuality and embrace femininity with an edgy spin.
