PFW round-up: Catwalks essentials

During Paris Fashion Week, a sense of youth and sensuality signaled a dive into a futuristic and contemporary atmosphere. Designers led the way with deconstructed designs and asymmetrics, showing that there’s still plenty of appetite for innovating in fashion.

Even the traditional crafted aesthetic took a more contemporary approach through layering and edgy shapes. Items that invoked freedom of dressing illustrated the prevalent mood: ease yet powerful.

Deconstructed designs

Deconstructed designs were highlighting a more contemporary and sexy take for the summer. Unique cuts added a fresher spin to lounge-worthy items, while asymmetric constructions elevated sensuality, bringing a youthful touch to classic garments. Neutral colors were essential to uplift the commercial take, while bright hues gave an ultimate visual impact.

Crafted feel

An edgy, crafted feel took over many collections in Paris, echoing a more sophisticated and avant-garde sensibility. Layered looks were vital to bringing an urban sense, and sheers and soft materials were the choice to keep it fresh.

Flatform

Making summer more elegant, designers elevated the crafted feel with a sense of 'savoir vivre'. Maximizing comfort without sacrificing style and functionality, the toe-post sandal was the frontrunner. Neutral hues were also vital in keeping it simple.
