Trending: Menswear fashion week
Oversized silhouettes are emerging as a new direction for menswear for the upcoming winter season. The wider shapes bring comfort and also update commercial items such as tailored pants and casual jackets.
Shown in a variety of styles, designers are betting on oversized shapes for jackets for A/W 21/22. Blazers have a vintage feel that appeals to the younger generation, while bombers, shackets and puffa jackets are a more commercial approach to this trend.
Use naturally structured materials such as corduroy and denim to create a slightly oval shape. These materials are also a good approach to markets that aren’t as cold in the winter months.

After years of the reign of skinny and straight silhouettes for men's trousers, A/W 21/22 collections suggest that the desire for comfort will also influence more formal items such as tailored pants. Familiar to the female consumer, this trend also shows a more gender-inclusive approach to design.
Premium materials and pleated details at the waist are a sophisticated element that might be a good idea for those trying to move away from the baggy shapes popularised in the ‘90s.
